HEY SINGASTRONOMERS!

Post by kirbyong »

HEY GUYS. DO YOU FEEL THAT THE NIGHT SKY TODAY IS ESPECIALLY WEIRD? OR IS IT JUST ME. THE MOON IS STILL UP, AND IS ON IT'S WAY DOWN, WHEN USUALLY IT WOULDN'T BE UP HERE TILL THE WEE HOURS OF THE MORNING. AND RIGHT NOW, AT THIS HOUR, WITH MY CLEARLY LIGHT POPULATED ESTATE IN BEDOK, I CAN STILL SEE ALOT ALOT ALOT ALOT ALOT OF STARS. ANYONE ELSE BESIDES ME FIND THIS WEIRD? IS THERE AN EXPLANATION??????

Yes. Its normal as the moon is moving around the Earth.
Clear skies are rare in Singapore but not impossible. This usually occurs after heavy rain and the sky clears up.
btw, welcome to singastro!

Hi,Everybody
Yes quite clear sky yesterday from 3pm-after rain-to 10pm,then smog gathers again. Its v.normal in Singapore and anyone interested in astro. observation should take such GOLDEN opportunity(ies) to make the best of it.For one, I shot the sun-sunspot 1026,1027-for 3 hrs!Dead tired after that!Unlike those lucky guys in Australia,NZ,US,etc thats the max we can do to keep cost of our hobby down! Thanks
