Hi fellas,
This will once again kickstart the astronomy expeditions to Punggai (near Desaru) for this year, in March (19-21) for 3D2N.
We will be staying the same Punggai chalet resort which offers the convenience and comfort of stargazing right beside your spacious chalets and with all meals provided. The local resort lights will be arranged to be switched off in the night to faciliate stargazing and astro-imaging, and offers an unobstructed view of the night sky.
Details of trip:
Time of departure - 8-9PM on Friday (March 19)
Venue to meet - to be confirmed at a later date (somewhere in Singapore)
Transport - there will be an a/c coach that will take us all the way to the resort.
Cost per person - SGD$130

no worries! newbies are definitely welcomed too. Price-wise it should be lesser than $200 per person and this covers a/c chalet accommodation, two-way transport and meals. There is no firm dateline for registration and confirmation, but it would be on a first-come-first-serve basis as we are limited by the accommodation places in the resort. If you could confirm soon, it would be great.
Some updates on the trip. Response seems good at the moment. The cost per person for the trip is SGD$130. This assumes the tentative night departure on March 19th Friday (8PM) and includes two-way transport, a/c accommodation and meals. Note that the departure timing caters to those who are working and do not wish to apply for work leave, etc. However, if there is enough response for those wanting to leave in the morning of Friday instead, the cost will be SGD$150 (due to additional accommodation occupancy hours and extra meals allocation). Dateline for registration will be right after Chinese New Year (Feb 16/17 period) as we need to finalise with the resort the number of people going and preparations.
Note that there is no need to bring your big batteries to power the scope systems as there is electricity on site. It would help to bring extension cords though. Save weight!
