CCD vs Film? Lots of time vs no patience? Alright, this is your place to discuss all the astrophotography what's and what's not. You can discuss about techniques, accessories, cameras, whatever....just make sure you also post some nice photos here too!
One problem I have is with flats... I think my flat frames aren't very well-taken, because I always have vignetting or other associated problems with my pictures. Gradient-exterminator on PS is good, but I would like to take care of the problem at the outset. Right now I am just taking my laptop and placing it in front of the scope with a blank word document. I set the exposure to maybe 0.05s so that the max pixel size is 20,000 (or something like that, as per the instructions in the Orion SSProv2 manual). Is this the right way of doing it?
