26 Jun 2010 Partial Lunar Eclipse Sequence

Post by weixing »

Hi,
The weather was very bad in the morning and afternoon, so went to birding, but the weather suddenly improve a lot at the evening after my birding. Quickly rush to the Changi Beach to shoot the partial lunar eclipse sequence with only my birding lens, the Canon EF 400mm F5.6L. Plan to shoot at an interval of 5 minutes from 19:20hr when the Moon first visible to 21:00hr when the Earth's umbra left the Moon. The 19:50hr shot was not in as the cloud cover the Moon totally and not visible.

The Earth's umbra left the Moon on 21:00, but the Earth's penumbra still cause the Moon to be a bit darker, so I took 2 more shots at 21:05hr and 21:19hr. Below is the image:

Have a nice day.
