Backyard Astronomer's Guide

Post by andeelym »

With the recommendations from another thread, I went to Borders yesterday and browse through the book. I was blown away by the amount of information and pictures. Made me really wanna buy it.

But reading from the website, it seems that there was a Sept 2010 edition but it was sold out? And scouring through various online bookstores, I cannot really find the latest print at all. Not even a sold out indication.

My questions are:
1) Was there really a Sept 2010 edition?
2) Will there be a reprint? If so, when?
3) Is it worth it to buy the current 2008 edition? The cheapest source was from Amazon @ USD$28.94.

I know the first 2 might be hard to answer, just wanna get a confirmation before buying the 2008 edition.

Thank you for your time.

I have just sent the authors an email regarding the availability of the Sept 2010 version. Will update when they reply.

Still no reply from the authors.

@Shirox: The question we were asking is if there is a Sept 2010 version. The one you bought is Aug 2010 version. 2008 is confirmed old version. :P Check the first few pages of your copy, does it says August 2010 or September 2010? Another way to check is if the iphone apps information is actually printed in the book.

@shirox: Do you see all of the following content printed in your copy?

Look at the first few pages of your book, what is the date of publication ? September 2010?
