what's more warranty is still valid according to an e-mail i sent to them.
if you buy my almost new Meade 8" UHTC SCT with a fine focuser throw in, you save another $500.

yeah, didn't you see the buy and sell section?

In the first place, I never understand why you guys wanna buy new from US. You could have save a bit more buying from Astromart. From my experience, some of the used scopes are better because the previous owner upgraded it with bob knobs, fine focuser, and may even have a few accessories thrown in. My experience tells me that those with good ratings are mostly honest....if they say their optics are excellent, you can be pretty sure you are getting a guranteed keeper.

When buy new from US, some dealers may try to offload those that are not so good in optical quality simply because they know it will be an hassle for you to send it back. Furthermore they know that people outside US are not so good in evaluating optics compared to the US amateurs where they have star parties week in and out.

The astromart scopes are far cheaper, better, more accessories thrown in, and basically with a guranteed quality.

But now that you have a new scope, make good use of it but next time, you should really source from Astromart first.

All Celestrons and Meade SCTs are the same.....except for their focuser and the Celestrons SCTs are a bit lighter.

The rest like dimension and mounting options are the same.

But the UHTC is somewhat better than the Starbright coatings which Celestron admits.
