NGC6357 in Scorpius

CCD vs Film? Lots of time vs no patience? Alright, this is your place to discuss all the astrophotography what's and what's not. You can discuss about techniques, accessories, cameras, whatever....just make sure you also post some nice photos here too!

NGC6357 in Scorpius

Post by rcj »

Previously, this nebula in Scorpius was presented in HA data only. Now, the composite below includes some 100min of OIII data (which was recently remembered stashed somewhere in the HD!). HA data about 120min.

This nebula actually has a name called "War and Peace Nebula"...will leave it to your imagination!

Just remembered you had Data stashed away??? Remus...you need to dig in more...lol! I'm sure you'll find stuff you forgot existed!!

Anyhow...I like how you captured the War and Peace!! The turbulence and how it looks like a Devil's horn with the calm adjacent gases, makes this one confused nebula!
It does look somewhat like a crab, which being in Scorpious makes this whole constellation rather crustacean! haha!

Great job again bro! I can't wait for a clear night!
My wife never complained about how much time, effort & money I spent on my Astronomy hobby!................suddenly I met her!!!
