A hot day yesterday followed by blue skies till midnight. Plenty of dust in the air and very picturesque sunset.

suffering from a rectal urgency hence stay home and away from public observation of Saturn.

Roll out the Edge C11 and imaged this rather colourful Saturn

and a video with the Canon 550D with the video crop mode

Thanks for sharing! Amazing video. Can see the bands clearly in the video even after YouTube's compression. The original video capture must be even more contrasty.

Umm... why not? Its a pain to have Saturn zooming pass your view when you need to focus for AP.

Nice image. Thanks for sharing. Saturn is at the other end of the solar system, so its relatively tinier but man, those rings are coming back. Wait till next year! [smilie=cute.gif]

kevin, you do need a tracking mount for planetary. it doesn't have to be an EQ mount though.

Thanks to all for the encouragement.

My tummy is now back to normal.

Here is another image of Saturn taken that night but processed from another longer video and using a newer version of Registax.

the colour is more traditional.

Imaging on EQ6 and at about 5600mm(native C11 + 2X barlow) does magnify polar alignment error.

Frame rate is 10fps. Yes a 640X480 webcam isn't just dead yet.
