did you replace the IR cut filter with something else?

I got a 300D really cheap ($120!) and ordered the AR-coated glass from Edmund Optics (they have a local branch in Singapore) and it cost $50.. almost half the DSLR!

but I have not yet opened up the 300D. Is it hard?

I want to put in the replacement glass so that AF capability is retained...

It’s not easy to remove the filter from the filter bracket. I realized that hard edge pressure could damage IR filter permanently. You can just takes off IR and Bracket together. Actually don’t need to replace with any things.
