NGC3324

CCD vs Film? Lots of time vs no patience? Alright, this is your place to discuss all the astrophotography what's and what's not. You can discuss about techniques, accessories, cameras, whatever....just make sure you also post some nice photos here too!

NGC3324

Post by rcj »

Here's something new for the clear night tonight, in HA - NGC3324. This patch of nebulosity is near the top right corner of the greater Eta Carinae complex. The open cluster, NGC3293 is shown in the image captured below as well.

Nice one, Remus - well done! There seems to be nebulosity in almost every part of the field. And those stars are really tight!

Go well!

Very nice bro! Indeed the nebula resembles the side profile of a human face. Actually name after a Nobel laureat, Gabriela Mistral , also known as Gabriela Mistral nebula. :)

Very nice, saw NGC3293 many many times, but can't see the nebula. Worst facing the bright city light pollution. :(

nice click Remus. Was this taken in singpore? If you do not mind, can you share the specification of your telescope you took this with? Just want to get an idea on about what kind of telescope it takes to get to this level of magnification and clarity. thanks

Hi preeti and rest,

This picture was taken last night during a time of good transparency, from the eastern part of Singapore. There were intermittent passing clouds but somehow none seem to get in the way of this particular southern area (lucky!). It is taken by my 5" refractor functioning at f4.7, with the ccd camera (which i may be selling soon!). About an hour worth of exposures. It is probably still a preliminary image and was an area that I have yet to discover (besides Eta Carinae itself). Hope more clear skies come our way!

Hey Remus,

Great shot and a great study! Glad you got something done during the clear spell! Must admit it very clear during that moment until 11pm+ when haze and clouds rolled in. Glad that you caught the Nebulosity of the area around NGC 3293. Thats lots of more of such as these along the milky way.

Selling your cam??....hmmmm how you know I need a new one??..hehe.
My wife never complained about how much time, effort & money I spent on my Astronomy hobby!................suddenly I met her!!!
