NGC6231 and the Moon

Post by timatworksg »

Given the past clear nights, wholesome moon and all, the trials continue.
NGC 6231 an open cluster in Scorpio within the region they call the False Comet.
Before the session ended, I decided to slew to the moon for a quick look and grabbed some subs as well! Sorry focus is soft...didn't refine as I was packing up for the night. Hope you like them!

Beautiful! It is possible to capture 6231 with the 3 bright stars (in a triangle formation) near it in the same frame?

Thanks Gary! Yeah wanted to but the combination of the 102 and SSDSI didn't allow it...lol! Will try a DSLR version through the WO M88SD hopefully tonight after the Spanish GP!! The whole string of stars with the nebulosity above is a beautiful sight.
