Capturing dust in C.Australis and a Black Snake!

CCD vs Film? Lots of time vs no patience? Alright, this is your place to discuss all the astrophotography what's and what's not. You can discuss about techniques, accessories, cameras, whatever....just make sure you also post some nice photos here too!

Joyce, Weixing, Kochu, Richard, Aziz, glad u'd enjoyed the image. Yes, Jeremy, indeed it is an interesting variable nebula! For everyone's benefit, I have provided an annotated version of the original posted image, to better see where everything is! It may have been better to cover the entire extent of the "dustiness" with a shorter focal length (300-400mm or so).

Shortly after covering the interstellar dusty regions of C.Australis, there was another area "higher up" Sagittarius, at the Ophiuchus border where there lies something elusive. I remember first seeing this region in a library book. The FOV was filled with gold-like stars with the subject immersed within. The Black Snake, or sometimes known as the S Nebula, is the 172th object in the Barnard's catalogue. It took a while to star hop to it's exact location with the guidescope (miniborg 50), and it laid at the subtle "edges" of the Milky Way "hamburger" profile. Again, an E210 image, 45min straight RGB combine.
