my wife's colleague's daughter suddenly piped up and said she wants a telescope for her birthday.
my immediate answer was Orion Starblast.
but does anyone have alternatives? (and no i do not consider the various Powerseekers and Astromasters to be suitable telescopes for 7-year old kids - or anyone, for that matter).

Hi,
Not too long ago earlier this year I sold my Starblast to Astrobargains for 2nd-hand scope sales. I am not sure if Joo Beng(owner of astrobargains) still have it, you can email him to check.

Hi Orly,
I've recently purchased a Celestron Nexstar SLT 130, its less than 3 weeks old and in absolutely perfect condition. I'm looking to sell it though. Purchased it from Astro Scientific at the science center for $1064. I'm willing to part with it for $900 if you're keen. Let me know if you are.
