Just a suggestion
: Like what hannah mentioned, i think we should have a seperate section for theories. This forum seems mostly practical astronomy, and there seems to be very little theories. If a theory section could be included, this forum would definitely attract more people as i believe there are a whole lot of astronomers out there who knows more of theory than their practical (there are alot of such people here, like me).

Hi,
I think adding a Astro Theories section is not practical at this moment... how many people will post anything on Astro Theories?? We are not that "professional" yet. If you like theories, you can always post it under General Astronomy section.
Anyway, I would like to point out that pratical observation is very importance in Astronomy. You need to get a lots of data to support your theories and you can only get these data through a lots of observation.
By the way, you don't need to have a lots of equipment to enjoy observation, you can just sit down and look at the stars with your nake eye or a bino... Remember, if you look at the sky offen, who knows that one day you might get a chance to spot a SuperNova "explode" in front of your eyes... dream on...
Have a nice day.

Well, since this is theories thread.. THEORETICALLY you may be able to see supernova explosion. According to old estimates it is once a few decades or centuries, but recent estimates (if some theories - I forgot which - are proven true) tell us of one every few years, just in the Milky Way alone! ;)weixing wrote:Remember, if you look at the sky offen, who knows that one day you might get a chance to spot a SuperNova "explode" in front of your eyes... dream on...![]()
