March Mersing Astrophotos

CCD vs Film? Lots of time vs no patience? Alright, this is your place to discuss all the astrophotography what's and what's not. You can discuss about techniques, accessories, cameras, whatever....just make sure you also post some nice photos here too!

Yup...an thanks for imaging the Horsehead too. We tried very hard to look for it that night with filters but can't seem to see it. Now we can. :)

Hi all, here is one more , a widefield shot of Eta Carina Nebula with the Canon 200mm EFL 2.8 lens, modified 350D & GPD mount. Sometime astrophotography should be as easy as this, a no frills, unguided simple setup. No darks , no flats a 'quick & dirty' processing...

Thanks bro, yes love this lens, sharp to the edge. It's an astrograph grade optics by any measure! :P

Hi weisun. You can look at this thread by cataclysm back in 2007:
viewtopic.php?f=7&t=4383&p=33956

In that thread, he mentioned about this link about modifying the 350D:
http://www.lifepixel.com/tutorials/infr ... el-xt-350d

He may have modified it further by now. :)

Thanks Gary for the link. Wow that was way back, yes I have since enhanced the performance of the camera with cooling, hence the noise has been greatly suppressed.
Here is the link: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=9081

and here another project with the 450D: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=10936
