Yup...an thanks for imaging the Horsehead too. We tried very hard to look for it that night with filters but can't seem to see it. Now we can.starfinder wrote:Excellent images, Kelvin! Sharp and high contrast. Yup, thanks for imaging M46 and NGC2438 (dubbed "The Smoke Ring Nebula") for us. Now we know what the planetary looks like in full colour.

Re: March Mersing Astrophotos
nice shots kelvin! Love the planetary nebula buried in the star cluster
Re: March Mersing Astrophotos
Hi all, here is one more , a widefield shot of Eta Carina Nebula with the Canon 200mm EFL 2.8 lens, modified 350D & GPD mount. Sometime astrophotography should be as easy as this, a no frills, unguided simple setup. No darks , no flats a 'quick & dirty' processing...

Decent catch you have there bro! I like the density of stars in the 200mm EtaC shot!
Re: March Mersing Astrophotos
Thanks bro, yes love this lens, sharp to the edge. It's an astrograph grade optics by any measure!rcj wrote:Decent catch you have there bro! I like the density of stars in the 200mm EtaC shot!

Thanks Gary for the link. Wow that was way back, yes I have since enhanced the performance of the camera with cooling, hence the noise has been greatly suppressed.Gary wrote:Hi weisun.
