CCD vs Film? Lots of time vs no patience? Alright, this is your place to discuss all the astrophotography what's and what's not. You can discuss about techniques, accessories, cameras, whatever....just make sure you also post some nice photos here too!
For a few days I thought that it was not possible to image the Sun in the hazardous haze situation. Finally brought myself to do it on Solstice. To my surprise the Solarscope SF50 performed magnificiently and produced great disk details and promiences.
This picture was taken at 4 pm. The M-Class solar flare erupted at 11 am this morning from AR1777 (at 8 O'clock position). This sunspot has just emerged on the Eastern limb. It had unleashed several farside flares and CME when it was on the dark side several days ago. The other sunspot to look out for is AR1775 (the one in the middle) - it has potential for M-Class flare.
"The importance of a telescope is not how big it is, how well made it is.
It is how many people, less fortunate than you, got to look through it."
