CCD vs Film? Lots of time vs no patience? Alright, this is your place to discuss all the astrophotography what's and what's not. You can discuss about techniques, accessories, cameras, whatever....just make sure you also post some nice photos here too!
With the bright sunshine today, I decided to do a bit of solar viewing and imaging.
Here are two images of the Sun taken minutes apart.
The one on the left was taken through a Celestron C-5 SCT with a Baader solar safety film at prime focus (EOS 60D).
The one on the right was taken through a Coronado PST h-alpha telescope with a 20mm eyepiece; since I could not get the dSLR to focus, I used my smartphone to do the imaging off the eyepiece.
Good job. Nice images. Nice proms in H-Alpha. One way of focusing in H-Alpha is to use the limb and up the magnification to focus. Looking forward to seeing more from you.
