M42 through the window in Singapore (2 photo)

Post by beginner »

Hi,

This Orion Nebula was taken early this year through the window in Singapore.
Due to the small gap of the sky between the window top and the top of the nearby HDB flats, only can manage a short exposure.
Total RGB integration time is 30 mins.
One sub each.
Bias and dark subtracts.
Camera - QSI 683

Image

After stacking, before processing ...light pollution.

Amazing! May not suspect it's taken from Singapore if you didn't mention it! Inspiration for local APers to try push the limit of their AP setup and skills in Singapore.

Very nice!
The outer arms and the Running Man clearly show the lack of exposure time but the details visible in the brighter parts is impressive :)

MystiQ,

Thank you.

But in trying to get rid of the light pollution in the photo, it leave quite a bit remnant noise.

an H-a filter will knock out that noise very well.

Am waiting for M42 to once again be visible in the western sky from my balcony...
