Milky way?
Re: Milky way?
Wonderful!
Photos in this thread may not win you Astrophotographer of Year awards but to me they are one of the most important and inspirational set of photos I have come across in singastro. Your inability to travel overseas due to your busy work schedule turns out to be a great blessing for us - it "forces" you to be creative, think out of the box and re-discovering the Milky Way right here in Singapore.

Re: Milky way?
Thanks Bornfree! haha...seems like the halo effect on the coconut trees is taking away attention from the rock especially the inscription on it
Thanks Gary once again! I am not trying to get any awards. It is just pure fascination with the milky way that kept me shootiing. You are right in a way that my commitments here, which kept me out from travelling overseas, forced me to think of other compositions. If got chance, I shall borrow my friend's 8mm fisheye again for shoot. Also, I have not been poisoned by the clear & dark skies overseas and this somewhat forces me to think how to shoot here. Advancement in DSLR technologies definitely helps a lot in my shoot.
And not forgetting the interest shown and the kind words of encouragement here that give me motivation to post MW photos on a monthly basis for the past 6 months
Two shots from sentosa to share...all single exposure

Wow, nice couple! Sorry got distracted. Nice shot!
If I am one of those couple, I will buy this photo from you and present it as a surprise romantic gift to the other.

Re: Milky way?
Thanks MystiQ. Forced to be creative since I have done pure MW widefield shots previously And luckily Sentosa area can still do single exposure though it may look overexposed before pp.
Gary the pic is hilarious!

The bright "star" on the left is actually Jupiter. Also can see part of the winter milky way

Re: Milky way?
It has been hectic work for me in the past 6 months and wasn't been able to have any time to shoot photos let alone astro photos. Finally decided to join Clifford, Thomas and Ivan at Changi on Saturday night (to be exact early morning on Sunday). While Ivan was shooting his DSOs, I was just a few metres away shooting the Milky Way....
