B33/Horsehead narrowband Ha

CCD vs Film? Lots of time vs no patience? Alright, this is your place to discuss all the astrophotography what's and what's not. You can discuss about techniques, accessories, cameras, whatever....just make sure you also post some nice photos here too!

B33/Horsehead narrowband Ha

6 x 5 minutes from the balcony at f/3

Image

At 100% the non-round stars due to collimation are still there, but at this size it's acceptable.. barely.

I was surprised how deep the image is for a 30-minute narrowband exposure. At 5:30 a.m. since that's the only time B33 clears my balcony roof.

Next clear night I'll try to add some OIII data.

Actually I live in a low rise :-P though it really doesn't help that I can only image something when its below 40 degrees altitude. The LPR is the worst as you get close to the horizon.
