Re: Bedok Reservoir Obs session - 27/3/14
The wooden jetty has no lock/gate , its just a platform for fishing i guess. it is directly in front of WaWaWa.
I think i know where you mean , using Shen g SHiong as a landmark Thanks!
Yes I will try to do it maybe once a month (wife permitting) for East Side, very quiet now ever since the east siders I used to know "retired" from this hobby. I stay at Bedok North so its quite near for me.
Regards,
Junwei

Re: Bedok Reservoir Obs session - 27/3/14
Thanks to wind and Gary(another Gary) who came down from Bishan with his binos to join me at Bedok reservoir, was intro-ing the skies to some joggers to happened to pass by..about 8-10 over the time that we were there.
Viewed some M objects and ngc 2169 (the "37" cluster), a coloured reddish-orangey + blue binary star and of cos Jupiter , at about 945pm or 10 whereabouts, we saw a shadow transit across the surface of Jupiter , GRS was in the right smack to the right of it. South and East view was blocked by trees, so no Mars and southern constellations from where we were. Chatted with wind about eyepieces and scopes in general.

Junwei

Obs-ing for the first time with my new scope and it was an enriching session under the helpful guidance from Junwei. It was nice meeting Gary too .. hope you didnt get so much "love" from the mosquitoes this time round
Learnt more about the different EPs/filters and saw the beautiful M42 for the first time .. will be hunting for more Ms from now on.
Maybe we can try the "hill @ Sheng Siong" next session so we can get a view to the South. Looking forward to the next session already!
Just trying my luck to see if anyone is keen on a Ob session together at Bedok Reservoir next week (12-16 May) .. Cheers!
Cheers!

Had a brief and short session due to clouds, looked at M7 from the wooden board section of Bedok Reservoir, and saw a satellite drift across the FOV. Moon and Mars are less than 10 deg from each other. Last object seen was Ngc 6231 before calling it a night
