Update: Official poster by SAFRA Jurong:
**************************************
Hi All. SAFRA Jurong is interested to run a live stargazing event during Earth Hour on 29 March 2014. Unfortunately, my friends and I already have other stargazing plans on that day.
SAFRA Jurong needs about 4 telescope setup and can provide complimentary parking coupons and some transport allowance for those who don't drive. Base on our previous stargazing collaborations with SAFRA Jurong, I can say that they are very professionally handled. The location is also dark enough as they will be switching off the lights around the deployment area (near outdoor basketball court). Definitely darker than Toa Payoh Central that's for sure!
This is good opportunity for amateur astronomers to spread their astro passion! Especially to those staying in the West!
If anyone is keen to participate/organise/co-ordinate this event, please kindly email me asap for more details "gary[at]astro[dot]sg".

Deleted the "Potential" from the subject header. The event is a go! Big thanks to James and Alfred for taking the lead and making the commitment!
This is a free public event so anyone who is interested to attend please feel free to do so with your friends and family, especially those staying in the West!

I should be getting more info from SAFRA later today. Since Earth Hour is from 8:30pm - 9:30pm, I guess if you can drop by within this timing, it will be safest for now. I suspect the activities will be on from about 7:30pm till much later at night (waiting for SAFRA confirmation).Mariner wrote:Any updates on this event?
If anyone else would like to bring telescopes and/or drive there, please kindly inform me latest by tomorrow (27 Mar) so I can make the necessary arrangement with SAFRA. Thanks.
