Celestron Sky Prodigy 130 SLT

Here is the place to talk about all those equipment(Telescope, Mounts, Eyepieces, etc...) you have. Not sure which scope/eyepiece is best for you? Trash it out here!

Celestron Sky Prodigy 130 SLT

Post by wintertriangle22 »

Does anyone has experience with CELESTRON SKYPRODIGY 130 SLT telescope. It is unique in the sense that it has automatic alignment system by taking photos
of stars & comparing with its star map memory. How accurate is it in terms of pointing to the objects as required ? How good is it in terms of ease of use & setting up of alignment ? What are the possible problems one can encounter?

Thanks for the reply , saw this telescope recently in observation session & did some research on it, realised it has unique
alignment system. Most of the reviews in Amazon are positive like yours but some are quite negative like
1) points 20 degrees away from object
2) unable to align at all showing some error message so had to be returned
3) cord wraps around etc

May be these problems occur in some telescopes because of variation of production quality in a batch with most
still ok.
