Cheers mate. I've nearly given up on it a few times. It's like a vendetta now!
A child visited the workshop while I was working on the faceplate. The reaction of the boy was enough to motivate me for the future of the suit in children's hospitals.

I only got ten minutes to work on this today. Here's a back view showing the seams all welded up, then ground back using an angle grinder and grind-wheel first, followed up with a flap disk.
