Remote Imaging and Telescope Hosting in Australia

Post by mrpugh55 »

Hello everyone, my name is Martin Pugh an amateur astrophotographer residing in rural New South Wales, Australia.
I am delighted to announce that by the end of Jan 18, I will be able to offer remote imaging, data subscription and telescope hosting opportunities from a brand new observatory located on my property. In other words, access to the gorgeous southern skies from the comfort of your home.

I have posted some info here:

https://www.martinpughastrophotography. ... pe-hosting

and you can get a real time view of my night sky at this link: http://martinpughastrophotography.id.au/ASC.htm

The URL above describes how a data subscription plan works and this is a very inexpensive way (that requires zero effort on your part) to get great data on southern hemisphere deep sky objects. Data acquired on the Astro Physics Riccardi Honders and the Planewave CDK17 systems costs $385 Australian Dollars per month.

The Riccardi Honders system is currently under subscription and one subscriber has already acquired a NASA APOD from one of the images. https://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap171018.html

Also at the webpage above, you can see 3 of the very high specification systems that will be in use.

Telescope hosting is also on offer with 3 spots open for rent at just $800 Australian Dollars per month (the Australian Dollar is about on par with the Singapore Dollar).

If you are indeed interested in this, please feel free to contact me with questions.

cheers and all the best.

Hello again.

Heaven's Mirror Observatory is now operational with two of my systems installed (http://martinpughastrophotography.id.au ... HM.JPG), with two others underway, and two more to be installed early next month.

But the big news is that the CDK17 is up and running and I am now looking for subscribers to the data subscription plan that I am offering. The subscription period will commence on Monday 19 Feb as I will be finalizing the preps on this wonderful instrument up until then (e.g all fresh calibration frames). Please contact me directly for pricing; I have a really good deal to offer.

and as a taster, check out this 5 minute image of Carina:

Together with the good seeing, and my special blend of AOX settings, I was delighted to get FWHM 1.3-1.4.

The re-commissioning of the Riccardi Honders has gone really well and that is now imaging again and on a brand new Paramount ME II; I have also added a 3nm Astrodon NII filter to add a little extra fun. The next subscription period commences 22 March and again, I have a good deal to offer here.

Pier availability - depending on the outcome of recent enquiries, I anticipate one, maybe two pier spots will be still available. As an additional benefit, I am now also providing the pier to anyone who is interested in hosting at no extra cost. So that is one logistical headache out of the way.

all the best and clear skies

Good morning/evening.

The first data subscription period on the RH305 is in its final month and the feedback I have received from the subscribers is that they have been very happy with the quality and quantity of the data provided.

I have received some processed results and with their permission have hosted them on my website here:

Hello everyone.

Thank you to those who have contacted me regarding the imaging opportunities that I am currently offering.
I have now uploaded a complimentary data set taken with the Astro Physics Riccardi Honders, details of which you can find at the URL below. It is of course of a SH gem - the Eta Carina nebula.

http://www.martinpughastrophotography.i ... Mirror.htm

Just download at your leisure, process it, and send me your results - I would love to see them.
and please note, there are now 3 systems available for you to acquire southern hemisphere data with and two of those systems currently employ Adaptive Optics with a resultant FWHM frequently achieved of between 1.2-1.8 arcseconds per pixel.

regards

Hello everyone.

I am now populating my website with complete image data sets that are available for purchase (via Paypal).

Currently, all of these data sets were taken with the CDK17 when it was parked at Sierra Remote Observatories and the vast majority of them contain between 20-50 hours of exposure, and there are some mosaics in there too.

I have pushed up the data for two objects so far, but have provided a 'slide show' of what is also available so as to give you a heads up as to what is coming. It just takes a very long time to get the data together and build the pages. If you see something on that slide show that interests you just contact me and I can make it available.

I would like to say that the data is all very high quality, some of it was taken with an Apogee U16M and some with the SBIG STXL11002 all AOX guided.
