Anyone tried this pier?

Here is the place to talk about all those equipment(Telescope, Mounts, Eyepieces, etc...) you have. Not sure which scope/eyepiece is best for you? Trash it out here!

Post by astro »

Hi folks,

Was thinking of getting meself a pier. Currently my OTA is a Celestron 4.5" Newt. Think of getting a 7" Mak also. Wanted to ask if anyone had experience with ClearVue piers.

Someone may be selling his full-pier soon, so keep your eyes open!

Hmm... 7" MCT... Must be Meade 7" MCT, Intes Micro Alter M703 MCT or Intes Micro Alter M715 7" MCT :D

Have a nice day.

hmm..the pier looks gd, at that price definately worth considering. i would take maybe the 48" for a refractor/cass or maybe the 30" for a newt.

btw, what mount u using now, or wat mount u intending to get for the 7" mak?

Well, I'm using a mount that I bought second hand years ago, its a no brand mount from japan. I'm scurrying to find that darn single motor drive that I have and the battery holder is busted, so need to change that.

I was think to get the following.. an Intes Micro M703 or something similar, a full pier and a Vixen GP-DX.

Now that astronomy is more prevelant here and there's more then one source I'm planning to start again.

My dream is to get a complete Tak outfit, but then again.. who am I kidding...

Hi,
Currently my OTA is a Celestron 4.5" Newt.
Hmm... The celestron 4.5" Newtonian got two version... one 4.5" F8 (900mm) version and a 4.5" F9 (1000mm) short tube version. So which version is your one??

Anyway, remember to update your equipments in the equipment database section.

Thanks and have a nice day.
