That's true... didn't think of that.
Thanks for the advice...
UO Ortho 5mm Ortho or Vixen LANTHANUM 5mm or Antares LE 5mm
i use the 7mm nagler without barlow, never owned a barlow anyway. it's used mainly for dso stuff, gives around 68x. views are quite dim due to too many elements, thinking of moving "up" to some simpler eyepiece. prolly a 8mm plossl or something.
i think u did not get me in my earlier post. all lanthanum have a 20mm eye relief, u do not need a barlow to maintain eye relief.
give u an idea, go borrow a 4mm ortho, try it out on ur scope and see if u like the views. i'm still quite against going too high a power on ur scope/tripod combo.

The reason why I'm partial to the 6-7 range is that I can use 80-96x as well as 130-160x barlowed. I've planned my eyepieces around a good 2x barlow. So 25, 15, 9, 6mm give me a good range of magnifications for many uses.
And no, apart from the ego trip I might get seeing how far my scope can go in terms of mag, 160x is likely to be the max mag I'd use regularly, anything else will be killed of by the seeing and my not having a tracking mount.
