USD$460 scope + USD$150 Shipping + USD$25Tax = USD$635 x USD$1.73 = SGD$1100.
I have told her to sell us cheaper.
Now price is about SGD$900 that is the final if you can find cheaper that is your problem.

Ask yr friend to lower her price if she want any seller.
At that price is it a new or second hand?

Ok ..... look at this site then .....
NEW .....
http://www.telescopes.com/products/Cele ... _5896.html
USD$439 Scope + USD90 Shipping + $27 Tex = USD$556 x 1.71 = $950 (and I round it up)
Don't need to buy it from me .... go to the website and order yourself.

Don't worry anyway i'm new here don't know much about scope pricing.
As for the Nexstar USD$600 you bought is very expensive because you can get a second hand for USD$400 with tripod and some addition accessories without shipping in astromart.
Hope you can share more about good pricing in the scope you have bought and good lobang for Singastro people but don't give the wrong pricing or things you don't know.

Hi,
as you can see from the comments its all very cheap. I got mine recently with tripod at a steal from astromart, he offered to ship to singapore free with extra accessories at US$500.
John, I think what carlogambino mean is that he got a 2nd hand Nexstar 4GT with tripod at US$500 shipping included, which is around S$850. I must said that it is quite a good deal if the Nexstar 4GT is in good condition, because a new one with tripod will cost around S$1100 without shipping, which can be easily add another S$150.
Anyway, if you are getting a Nexstar 4GT, it is not a bad idea to check out John offer first. Since the scope is already in Singapore, you can get a chance to check the scope first before you buy it. You may get a cheaper price if you buy directly from oversea, but you won't have the chance to check anything. You may just get a problem scope (touch wood) and it may cost you more to get it repair or exchange.
Have a nice day.

That's true.. always good to try before buy. but generally those on astromart are quite ok... so I've heard anyway.
john: Can tell your friend to also put it up on Singapore yahoo auctions. Wider reach there i think.

Hi there just to clarify: It's not very expensive. Firstly, its pretty new and in good condition. Secondly, it comes with shipping and accessories free(e.g barlow, erect prism, solar filter, eyepiece holder, etc.) Shipping itself cost like US $100. USD $600 is for completely new scope/w tripod(first hand), inclusive of shipping. Anyway, the scope is a good deal for those pple who like to touch n try first b4 they buy. Most asians like my grandmother INSIST on doing so

eww, so much banal talk. look, johnteh is trying to help his friend sell a scope, and so many people jump in with their "much lower prices", from parties which they do not even have an interest in.
if ur interested in buying, sure u can go ahead and bargain. but i dun think there are many prospective buyers posting. anyway, gd luck on that sale, i think the price u are asking is still reasonable.
