mmm...I think everyone is missing the point here.
William lives in the US! He can buy scopes cheaper than anyone of us can here. I don't think he bothers how much they are sold here.
What he lacks at his home is access to a telescope shop where he can browse and linger amongst all kinds of scopes. If he comes to Singapore, such a shop is just a bus ride away!
Granted the prices are on the high side, Astro Scientfic at the science centre is a nice little setup and you get to see all the stuff that you only see on the catalogues.
And if you can catch Albert, the owner there, you will see that he is very keen to talk shop with you regardless to whether you are buying or not...overall a very nice experience....
William - Hope your stay in Singapore is an enjoyable one...unfortunately, its clouds clouds clouds here for the past few weeks already..:-(

Albert is certainly a very good person to talk to, he can share his experience on the papers he wrote, as president of Tasos, his visit to Kalua, Hawaii at SUBARU observatory. His photo taking experience of the Moon and Publications.... Do catch him in the afternoons, when he is more free. You email him for appointment. He can really spent time with you just talking about Astrophysics etc...Have good trip in Singapore. or visit the Singastro fest 2005

can you ask him to lower his prices please?wucheeyiun wrote:Albert is certainly a very good person to talk to, he can share his experience on the papers he wrote, as president of Tasos, his visit to Kalua, Hawaii at SUBARU observatory.
