have you seen those small, light troller that housewife used to shop at market? (about $20)

how about change the wheel to larger air filled rubber wheel (like baby trolley) then lay some rubber sheet/hard form in the storage space to provide some cushioning for your OTA.

I am thinking of making something like that for my CG5-GT mount and accessory.

Hi qu1xs1lv3r,
welcome to Sinastro. I think for ur long tube reflector, u can either use those long bodypac bags or buy long bags from camping shop, those at beach road. btw, how far from ur observing site? I usually hand carry the tripod and bring my 127MAK in a sling bag. :)

A few possibilities:
1) large tennis/badminton bag
2) 'weekend' golf bag: much lighter than the standard golf bag.
3) scout around beach road hawker centre where they sell all sorts of army stuff. There are a couple of shops that sells only bags.

i've borrowed a scope thats aprox. like yours from my school, i think you can probably carry the whole setup yourself. Get those long bags that can sling across your back for the 3 tripod legs and accessory tray and counterweight and eyepieces in a plastic bag. Hang the plastic bag on the lower arm and use your free hands for the mount and scope.

It should be quite safe if you lean backwards a bit and allow your OTA to lean on you, securing it between your shoulder and cheek, the friction should keep it in place. Mounting just hold on the other hand.

I did all these, except for the tripod part cos i cant find a bag that is long enough during that time, but i think you can make them yourself :D

if you observe nearby only a short distance away, maybe you can just put your accessories, counterweight and tripod spreader bar/eyepiece caddy into a haversack and then use both hands to carry the ota/mount/tripod setup altogether. Easier to set up and move back home that way.

quicksilver, :k-shock: :k-?: why........ did u not choose the celestron HD or the nextstar series of the 114mm type. The powerseeker seems to be those, filmsy, crude and inadequately designed scopes... The typical 'test water' scope. :k-socute: :k-=X:
