Good shot, Siah Heng. Looks like your site had less haze. I think the pic would have more impact if the exposure was 1 to 1.5 stop less.

Hi Airconvent,

Well, when I was looking at the Moon, I could certainly make out the rounded shape of the Earth's shadow cast on its bottom right, as you may be able to tell from the photos above. When looking at the Moon then, I could imagine the Sun directly behind and below me, slightly to my.... left (?).

yes...but I could not account for the strange shape of the "dark side" of the moon and did not strike me that it was due to an eclipse...plus I was driving, so could only take quick glances ...

Taken last night at 8 pm.
Canon 300D at 200 mm. Two images combined 1/60s and 1/15s.
(I'll do a more careful merge later this week)

haha, to be honest, I was also enjoying the strange hazy 'crescent' moon and then wondering later why it had become a bright full moon! I had forgotten about the partial eclipse!

Nice pics! It seems that the clouds made the shadow even more obvious..

You guys are soooo lucky.
Here is Penang, we were totally washed out. No Moon can be seen until almost 10pm. Too bad for the few reporters and over 50 people that turn up.

Regards,
