I took some of these photos to put in astromart. But before I do that, maybe I should show it here first.

- Favourite scope: Mag1 Instruments 12.5" Portaball
This is such a great deal. I was selling my Nexstar5 (the older model) for $1200 and that doesn't include the tripod. So someone grab it before its gone. If I am have not been banned from buying new toys I would have grabbed it in an instant...

We do it in the dark...
Portaball 12.5"
Takahashi Mewlon 210
William Optics 110ED
...and all night long!

Glad you see the value of this scope.acc wrote:This is such a great deal. I was selling my Nexstar5 (the older model) for $1200 and that doesn't include the tripod. So someone grab it before its gone. If I am have not been banned from buying new toys I would have grabbed it in an instant...
If I am not driving, I would have keep this scope forever. But my 11" f/5 is completing soon and when you drive, 11" or 5" makes no difference in portability. The 11" has a sky commander on it, so I don't really need that GOTO. If I miss the GOTO one day.....maybe I might get the Nexstar 8i (just love the Nexstar series now)
I was playing with it again a few days back. I use a 8.8mm 5000 UWA on it and Saturn looked incredible! That's 142x and the banding on the planet was clearly seen. Cassini division was a piece of cake. I wonder the Burgess 127 could do the same.....no time to check out this scope yet. Then I goto M42......seen this object thousand times but was amazed with what the scope can show at 142X using the 8.8 UWA. Nebulosity filled three quarters of the FOV (82 degrees) and stars were pinpoint up to the edges. The 8.8 5000 UWA seems not too bad, but the 11" f/5 will be a good test for it.
Actually a few guys PM me and ask, I already give them a "very good " price (those who know me should know what I mean) but they still want me to lower somemore. Haiz.....I rather keep it.
Actually as a good faith of keeping the scope in Singapore, I don't really mind losing some $$$. So I ask for $1170 (another 10% off). To me, I think this price is a steal for such an excellent condition scope with tripod and accessories.acc wrote:Ya might as well keep it instead of selling it at a big lost... at this kind of price shouldn't ask for any more discounts leh...
Yet, some people still ask me to lower further. Maybe they want me to give it to them for free.
