Oh! Share the same sentiment , Ariefm. I have been tinkering with this idea as I had just acquired a mewlon too. Please pm me if you guys have any leads.

These "feather touch" products are in fact very good, i tried luiming apo, it was smooth as butter. luiming apo focuser is a dual speed too...as i remembered.

good idea...arief, let's do it.
if you can get me a sketch, i can try to sent it for local machining...if not luiming can help us do it from PRC.
I'm checking with UncensoredTakGroup on the Mewlon thread size, or we can actually bring both the Mewlon and SCT visual backs to the machinist and ask him to measure. How?

PS: The adapter will be female (mewlon) to male (SCT). It has to be as low profile as possible to avoid the adapter cuts into the light cone.

Btw, there's a similar off-the-shelf Tak-to-SCT adapter called Takahashi Feldstein adapter, but according to the description it only works for FS-102/128/152, FSQ-106, BRC-250, & E-210/250 thread.

i wonder luiming feathertouch focuser can be integrated onto the mewlon ( but his is a refractor) ...if it works, can we can buy any off the shelve feather touch cass focuser and get the a new custom made visual back for the mewlon....

My feathertouch focuser is refractor type which doesn't fit Mewlon 210; Buying from US (high point scientific) is also expensive although they may send you a greeting card the next new year's day. :D

The very slight backlash of Mewlon 210's focuser is also a bit annoying since you may not improve it by adding a dual-speed feathertouch knob only.

I will upload a picture tomorrow to show you the recently home-made feather touch focuser on a TMB80/480 apochromatic refractor.

Liu Ming,

Are you selling refractor feathertouch focusers?

Cheers!

There IS an off-the-shelf adapter for Mewlon to SCT!! it's called the Wu adapter:
Part No: TCD0003
Description: “WU” ADAPTER FOR CN-212/MEWLON180/MEWLON210 REPLACES CN-212 2” ADAPTER TO SCT THREAD, ADDS 1 ¼” BACK FOCUS
Price: US$ 119.95

I still believe we can get it cheaper by machining it ourself. The Mewlon thread size is M71.

Not now, it is not easy without CNC machining.

For high-power planetary use, I only use 1.25" short-focal-length eps which is aided by a fine-focuser. Whereas all my 2" eps are all wide-field low-powered eps which do not require fine-focusing. Hence I don't need a 2" fine-focuser.

For me, the helical focuser is already very efficient and cost-effective for visual planetary use at high power, currently I don't feel the need to upgrade a 10:1 focuser. Sure, I can let anyone try out my helical focuser.
