Thanks for the comments! I realize that a good tripod is more worthwhile to keep than a good scope. IMO, a recommended companion to the Tak SE-L tripod is Gitzo MKII 1500, which makes a portable medium-duty platform with more versatility. All models with centre column or more than 2 sections are less favored.
