Jeremy and Arief, how about this: Jeremy sells Anat's 80mm to Arief, Jeremy buys my 80mm red tube... PLUS I will give you (Jeremy) another Telrad with base for free? I believe this is a great 3-way deal for all three of us! :)

HAHA ... Good idea .. BUT

1. I could have just gotten the APOgrade package on my Megrez for a little more than half the price at today's conversion rates, unless I really like the red. :)

2. I promised Anat I'll take good care of the 80mm and will make good use of it. :)

3. It's a TMB. :) And a triplet at that.

Hee hee ... Been back and forth with the APOgrade, then the TMB. I think I'll settle once and for all with a TMB. The only thing I'll miss is the micro-focuser. Used it on Tachyon's Red tube once - it was a dream! :)

At least I can join Liuming's club - I like TMB from his influence. HAHA .. :)

Haha! Jeremy, just to share some of my thoughts...

1. Red is the limited edition, and different from upgrade lah!

2. Did you promise or sign contract with Anat that you won't sell it? Haha!

3. The red tube has a TMB co-designed objective lens. Anyway, I prefer a doublet for visual use.

4. If you want to join Liuming's exclusive club, then you must also get a Mewlon and a Zambuto... HAHAHA!

He will. I'll travel to Bangkok next month to meet Anat (to collect another SS2K :D) and to hand over the contract letter with Jeremy's signature.

Wow! SERIOUS?

Arief, before you collect the Telrad tonight, I also need you to sign a declaration form that you will take good take of the Telrad, make good use of it and NOT sell it under any circumstances...

HAHA ... :)

1. As far as I know, the APOgrade is available cos WO made/ordered/whatever a whole bunch of extra lens cell when they were producing the Anniversary scope so they're selling the same cells as an upgrade. With the focuser upgrade, it's pretty much the same other than the limited edition factor and the red tube. :)

2. HAHA .. Arief got me on this one, but I;m not gonna sign a contract!! HAHA .. But well, one of the things we talked about was that I will put this scope to good use, so I will. No point saying I will put it to good use and selling it before I even touch it .. HAHA ... :)

3. There has been a big debate over this one, and as far as I know and have read, Thomas Back has more than once asked William Yang to remove his name from this particular lens design in at least 2 forums. I do have imaging in mind so I guess the triplet will do well here. :)

4. The part about LiuMing's club is only a joke lah brother!! :) But it's true that I spoke to Liuming before about APOs and just after a short while, he had me convinced about TMB refractors. I even told him TMB is now my dream scope .. HAHA .. :) Look at it this way, from my very limited knowledge, in Singastro at least, there are quite a few Mewlons and perhaps a couple or more Zambutos. Not many TMBs though, especially DIY ones ... hee hee .. :)

HAHA, anyway, at the end of the day, all this is is all for fun eh .. :) Let me know if the 4&5mm come loose from the set .. Hee hee ..

Jeremy! Someone is interested in the 6, 7 & 9mm.... Lets see if anyone else wants the 12.5, 18 & 25mm (which are good for binoviewer pairs). :)

My off topic two cents:
I compared side by side Televue 85, Televue NP101, NP127, tmb 80/480 and a TMB 115/805, in terms of resolution&contrast per inch aperature, the TMBs are clear winner. However I only recommend genuine tmb apos made by their Russian contractor.
