That's when everybody at home has gone to sleep!Starmigo wrote:Thanks Rich,
I cycle but not at midnight though. May I know why you watch night sky at these hours? Is it the later the hour, the better the look of the planet or is it no uncles/ aunties come out to ask you what you are looking at like in Toa Payoh? Heehee...
I usually observe at the top floor of my multistorey car park. I prefer clean open cement floor to grass...lesser mosquitoes and alot cleaner. I just plonk my stuff all over the floor and not be afraid of losing any small item as you may in the grass.

Heh, nice recommendation Richard, but the only thing portable right now is my 20x80s! For my FLT setup, it will be travelling in the Comfort way...
Imagine the money spent on cabs, in a year, i could get a Pentax ep! But then again, the furtherest i went with my FLT is Ubin, well, perseverance goes a long way i guess..

for people who have set themselves for astronomy, I believe they should own a few scopes. a small refractor (80mm shorttube) for get up and go, a small SCT/MCT like the ETX for higher magnification and compactness and a larger aperture SCT/MCT (8") goto for serious PRODUCTIVE observing...people's preference varies but this is my own preferred profile! :-)

Same here too, But my taste will be more like 80mm apo, FLT, 6"MCT, 24" Dob w/tracking platform....How far am i away from my dream profile.....
Anyway, getting offtopic. ahahha.
Anyway, Starmigo, you're most welcomed in our sessions, we are more happy to share our skies with another like-minded individual than with that glaring moon up there now...
