Weekend of Meteor Showers
think zong is referring to August 10th (Friday) at Turf City and followed by a second session at East Coast Park the next day (August 11th Saturday). Nevertheless it is best to confirm with him prior arranging to go for either events (or both). It would be convenient for me to join the second night, if there is no haze and rain. The second day's location should be held in the same open field adjacent to the shorefront in between carparks C4 and D1 (see the first posting in this thread) like the previous Jupiter Watch event.

Hi, due to my being in uni orientation around the date of meteor shower and the uncertainty of haze, I didn't approach Turf City management to request for permission. I can't juggle too many things now, I'll probably have to push the double shower event to the Geminids.
However, since East Coast Park is still a free area, I will still hold a session there for everybody. Details:
Date: 11 August 2007
Time: 9pm onwards
Place: East Coast Park area between Carpark C4 and D1. This place is not the darkest in ECP but we do not need "darkest" skies to see meteors. And it is accessible with or without driving, so more people can come.
Request: food? haha. Maybe it could be a nice Singastro gathering too. I will bring some tidbits (biscuits, ruffles, etc) Maybe those with portable tables could also set up 2 of them side by side to house the food, that would be great too.

Stargazing ... is an excuse to stay up past bedtime that never fails!
