M22, M8- Lumenera camera

CCD vs Film? Lots of time vs no patience? Alright, this is your place to discuss all the astrophotography what's and what's not. You can discuss about techniques, accessories, cameras, whatever....just make sure you also post some nice photos here too!

Hi,
Any large objects (such as M8 or M7) will do. Thanks.
Visually it performs very badly
Hmm... I also wonder about this... a few members had seen through a R200SS locally and they also report very bad visually even with the vixen coma corrector, but I had seen a lots of good comments on R200SS visual performance on lots of astronomy website. I suspect that this may be due to either the scope is not well collimated or the distance between the coma corrector and the eyepiece is not correct.

Anyway, if I really get a R200SS, it'll be my main scope for visual and Astrophotography... So I hope it won't really perform that bad on visual.

Have a nice day.

Hi,

the distance between coma corrector and eyepiece is fixed because the corrector can only screw behind the visual back. Maybe its the collimation. I think its the thick spider vanes and large secondary. If you want, you can come over and examine the R200SS that I have.

Bad weather, so no imaging, so I took the time to rework the processing of M22.

Haha, thanks. Its not centred because I was talking on the phone at that time and I just let the exposure go. Oops.
