At the left hand side of the Envisage software is the 16bit Histogram, make sure it does not crowd all the way to the right, that means overexpose and lose data. no amount of processing will recover.
I remember you can drag a box around the planet and the software will stack as it is taking pics. Better not use that. Take individual 16bit tiff and stack them in Registax will be better. Take about 600.

Forget to add that, since you are in Az configuration, then don't take so many pics, otherwise field rotation will blur the pics when you stack them together.
Calculate the field rotation amount. I am not sure if its large enough to cause bluring.

ok..i've tried remus' and weixing's suggestions. lowered the gain, contrast and stuff. used the meade envisage software to take multi .bmp files only and stacked them in registax v4.
it's a better 2nd attempt although i think the focusing could have been better. needa touch up somemore with photoshop as well..
it's a stack of 279 frames...is it a bug wif registax? cause i took around 540 frames but registax only detected 279 despite me selecting all the 540...hmm..weird..

Hi,
Anyway, nice image for a second attempt!! Keep trying and you'll soon get your Jupiter image...
Happy imaging and have a nice day.
If I remember correctly, RegiStax got a feature call "quality filter" which will determine the quality of the frames and remove them from stacking if it "think" the quality of the frame is less than the setting.it's a stack of 279 frames...is it a bug wif registax? cause i took around 540 frames but registax only detected 279 despite me selecting all the 540...hmm..weird..

Hi Tungkian,
yes it is the quality estimator acting up automatically. Although there were a default number of frames to process initially, Registax will sort and rank them from lowest to highest quality. You can also manually select the number of frames out of the default selection by moving the long slider located at the bottom of the Registax interface software.
