The 'universe' friendly warp nacells means no more warp pollutions . haha. and equipped with quantum torpedoes !
Hi Sam,
quantum torpedoes...yawn....those did not help against the romulan ship, did they? They even depleted their stocks in that crucial battle...

hahaha, friend. that was a crazy romulus ship , equipped with 52 disruptor bays and 27 torpedoes tubes , hardly normal..
In any case , thats the reason why you cannot make any more series out of that (it doesn't get crazier). Hopefully the new movie comes out soon , its getting real bored.

Andrew, which model are you working on ? Andromeda ?

How about a project on the Apollo model. The Saturn V rockets are really impressive!
Oh I forgot, there is this shops that I came across (most recently one in vivocity) selling models of chinese rockets made by a chinese company...they are cheap although I suspect the quality may not be up to standard..you can try there.

I would like to also one day build a Space Shuttle set, compleat with launch pad and separable boosters. And what's more, a Hubble Space Telescope that pops out of its cargo bay.

Hmmm... maybe something like this one:
http://www.hlj.com/product/HSG10729

A difficulty would be, not so much getting and building them, but finding the storage/display space. What with all the scope gear and tripods already. Oh well, would have to be selective: maybe one Space Shutle and one Star Trek starship.
Hi Gavin,
This needs glue and painting...something not in my modelling road map!

I have most of them - in boxes still! The only I don't have is the Enterprise series... the ship looks too 'primitive'.

I looked at the box last night and went to sleep! Heh... anyway, will try to find some energy to do it this weekend - the stock market has been pretty quiet...

I wanted to buy the Andromeda Ascendant but could not find any kits available. Someone can help?

ok...I was at this model cum magazine shop opp Kinokuniya at Bugis and they have the 1701E and the original TOS 1701 for sale!
These are not kits but complete models. Size is around the same as the Bandai kits. The details are not as fine, but the box says the models were made exactlly to the CGI specs used in the movies. It cost S$85.

This is the one :
http://www.amazon.com/Diamond-Comic-Dis ... B000FPYZ9M

The brand name is Diamond Comics Distributors. The top dome button can be pressed and there are some flashing lights and sound when you do it. The box also has lots of details about the characters from that ship.
I think this company has the whole range but this shop only has this 2. In fact, I do believe another trekker once showed me his USS Voyager which is also from this brand.

The NX-01 is a beautiful ship because of its intricate hull plate pattern.
Its also the smallest and most difficult to do because the parts are small...

For those who are interested
Took me 3.5 hrs (0100-0430 hrs) this morning to built it because darn, its the hardest to built next to 1701A. The NX-01 and Voyager was definitely easier.
The main problem is the warp nacelle support which is too thin, so they had to resort to stickers to hide the wires. Not very elegant. Also, as per earlier view, some of the parts are not snapping together perfectly meaning there are gaps. Visually this should not affect the appearance but when you switch on the lights at night, you can see the lines. Also, it took me 45min just to get the lights to work in completed mode. The light test was ok but when the last piece was inserted, somehow the contact could not be established. I realised this was the same problem I had with the NX-01. You need to force it in much harder before the connectors meet . whew..

Overall, the detail is superb although the kit is not the same scale as Voyager. Its actually smaller when in real life it should be much bigger (Voyager has crew of 185 normal whereas Enterprise has a crew complement of around 850.)
With this, my bandai collection has been completely built! heh heh
(Notice my Avartar!) 8-)
