DSLR camera focusing

oh, some more:

start by pointing at some far terrestial object and get rough focus. Then once you get good focus on the star, lock down the focuser. By right, you should refocus every 30mins (my own gauge) due to temperature change. In Singapore, its quite ok.

I use a STI Stiletto for the initial focus then fine tune it as the night goes. I like the Ronchi method but you need to have a pretty bright star to get it really close. The good thing about the stiletto is it uses the same T-ring and accessories as your camera. So whatever you have in between the camera breach and the telescope, the stiletto can accomodate it as well thru allowing you to have a truer focus.

Hartmann mask

hi,

i just read about Hartmann mask. it's looks like a nice choice for focusing. i will try it...then i can tell how is that.

i am going to make a Hartmann mask. i will try to take some pic for exprements...see how its works...
