Here is the place to talk about all those equipment(Telescope, Mounts, Eyepieces, etc...) you have. Not sure which scope/eyepiece is best for you? Trash it out here!

Hi Remus
I know the Borgs are also portable but this one is much cheaper. That is why I am calling it the ulitmate portaball refractor set up based on combination of size, weight, quality and price. The build quality is good too. Of course it lose to the Borg on flexibiity and my guess optics also.

rlow wrote:Yes Rich 1, the SV F80 is the one I got, and it comes with the diagonal and fine helical focuser. No problem getting eyepieces to focus so far.
F80 ota with diagonal, focuser and SV23mm illum. reticled eyepiece is only 1.1kg. I use it with a Slik Sprint Mini GM tripod with ball head mount which weights 0.7kg. Both ota and tripod are just about 14" length each when retracted. So far, this is the lightest and most compact ultra-portable 80mm travel-scope setup that I have. Oh, and I am also using it as a 15x80mm superfinder for the 11" and 15" dob. With the 20mm XW, the F80 gives 15x magnification and a 4.6 deg TFOV.
Hi RichII
oh yes...the XW part is the killer on budget!
Perhaps you can upload a picture of your setup?

"WOW!! You use a Pentax XW eyepiece on a finder?? Shocked Just wonder what eyepiece you are going to use on your 15" dob?? Hmm... Televue Ethos?? Mr. Green Mr. Green "
How about 2 Ethos on the Denk2! However, probably need a few kg counterweight.
