Expert Help needed on EQ mounts
if it ain't spoil, dun fix it. i'm somewhat guilty, i have taken my sp mount apart to regrease. somehow my grease after maybe 15 years since coming out of the factory, has changed into glue like. newer mounts from vixen, i doubt u need any regreasing.
while taking the mount apart, wat is interesting is that every single thing u see inside the mount is as per vixen's diagram. no extra washer or anything else. everything is smooth with no jagged edge. spent a few hour cleaning away all the old glue and then fixing everything back.
take note, i took apart mine because the grease is really really old. i have used the newer sphinx and gp/gp2 mounts. out of factory they are nice and smooth to turn, no stickiness.
so, unless u feel that u strongly feel the need to regrese it, don't do it. out of factory, the adjustments are very nicely sorted out, minimum backlash, no play anywhere. there's a gd chance that u can't put it back the same way as the factory.
8" on ur gpdx? peak to peak or +/-? if it's peak to peak, then it's really nice. sell sell, 50 cents i buy.
