I guess I have seen some of the online retailers quote a blanket amount for all international shipping charges. Sometime back I was checking at a russian site for zenitar fisheye lenses and they have mentioned that they charge $50 S&H for all international orders. I guess it might be something like that..

You are lucky and keep the email as a proof or the quote in case they come back for additional charges.

Thank you for your e-mail. I'm not sure why you are seeing a discrepancy in shipping prices. Our Fed Ex International Price for delivery to your
address is $89.42. This is what you will be charged when your order is
processed. Please let me know if there is anything else we can do for you.

So can I say the charges are accurate?
Someone at your retailer end is gonna get sacked once this transaction goes through.

OK :). the First part of the Scope reaches my house .... too bad the focuser is spoilt. Will be sending back the scope or getting a quotation for a new OTA if the price is cheaper or equal to sending back and shipping the scope here again :).

But other then the focusing problem, the Finderscope works great, a great fit to my Reflector. The Possl eyepieces are of average quality. Now waiting for the mount to arrive ;).

Oh, anyone got a dovetail bar for a reflector to sell? If do, may I know the price for it?

How do you know that the focuser is spoilt?? Focuser shouldn't spoilt so easily... I think you should check carefully before you do something that going to spent more money. Does it come with a manual? May be I can help you by taking a look...

You may like to know that it is quite easy to fabricate one yourself. I just did one especially for my Megrez 80SD to fit a Vixen mount.

Have a nice day.

Congrats Blur block!
If the cost is correct, then you got yourself a good deal...marred briefly by the damaged focusser. Hoping to see you at future sessions once your new scope curse wears off!

Nope, the charges are all in. Actually they delivered it on the same delivery by two separate box, supposingly to arrive at the same day on monday (According to Fexdex "live" tracking module) it just happened the Scope arrive eariler and the Mount will arrive (most probably today) by 1 pm today :).

BTW ..... the focuser really spoiled :( ..... focused it far far away to a building at least 300 - 400metres away. When I turn the focusing knob, it does nothing at all :(..........
