Noob wants to get a scope

Hey all!!
Thanks for the valuable tips.

Think I'll go down to astro@science center to take a look at a 8".

Actually, because I already have my own ride now, that's why I decided to finally get into this hobby. Always backed out previously because of transport issues.

The 12v cig power will be sufficient right?

I might have issues making it to obs outings, so maybe have to solo on some occasions.

Another possible location for me could be on the top floor off my multi-storey carpark. Nobody parks there :)
The view from on side is definitely unblocked. Not sure about the other angles. Will need to check out again. Is this a bad place?
The lights from the nearby flats will affect?

You might wanna re-consider the 12v cig power ... later cannot start your car in the middle of the night ... :)

The top of MSCP normally have very bight lights to light up the top of the car park.

Hi,

I would think it is better to join one of the astro gatherings to look through actual telescopes. Also, by doing this, you will get a better impression of what it is like looking through a telescope in light polluted Singapore. Not to sound negative, astronomy is mostly looking at 'faint fuzzies', near to the eye's threshold of detection. This is especially so in light polluted Singapore.
