Hi,eMinity
With bright objects like the sun a normal camera will do for afocal photography;but if you want to shot star clouds etc you need at least a DSLR or some CCD cam and one at least is around s$400++;also you need special narrow band filter to cut out the polluted light. Our master astrophotographer like rcj;Meng lee;WeiXing;MooEy etc can all give v.good advices on it.
By the way sunspot 1029 today suddenly give a v good show around 10am and even thought its pretty cloudy out there with lots of moving clouds;its a interesting show even thr the cloud gap, with super bright red filaments expanding and changing like moving snakes. There is a shape change every 20 min or so;dont expect that when looking at the night sky star cloud! Thanks.
