Lens hood may help, but not as much as getting to a very dark place. I stay at bayshore park, often ob at ECP area D. Just a bike ride away.

@ timatworksg: I might consider buy a manual scope after getting my astrophotog set-up. Will help to use the time when camera is taking exposures.

A dark place is always the best! Keeps the eye's adapted as well!

A friend of mine stays at Costa Del Sol,...and his high floor faces the sea!! Beautiful position to be in....but he isn't into astronomy! I should stay there...haha!

Good idea for another scope. Agree that when it's shooting,...it's either nap or start planning what the heck to do tomorrow!..lol!
My wife never complained about how much time, effort & money I spent on my Astronomy hobby!................suddenly I met her!!!

That place to close to highway already lah.My balcony also faces the sea, but the main disadvantage of balcony obs is that you face the same patch of sky everytime. That is why I sometimes take the trouble of lugging the scope to the rooftop.
