cloud_cover thks for the advice.. care to bring me deeper?
If I get that, what kind of storage do I need? Or does it come with it, and also what about the mountings? What kind of tripod can I get for a good foot hold?

Ken - Use Stellarium. Its great!
See the wiki for a description of mounts

Rlow's mount is the table top mount - the bottom pic that shirox posted. Its an alt-az mount, doesn't require a tripod, just firm ground/floor. If its too short for field use, you can just bring a sturdy wood carton or a small coffee table (the $30+ kind from ikea) and plonk it down.
For value, you can't beat it. 4.5" of aperture for $200 inclusive mount.
Of course it doesn't do goto but if you want in future you can get the whole setup or dismount the tube and re-use it with a pair of tube rings onto pretty much any mount available (as shirox has done by mounting it on a CG-3). The nice thing is that its light and easy to grab so its a really good thing if you just want to pull it out, observe casually for a while then go home to rest
