Is it as tall as Elton's 18" UC? If so, then I have another scope which matches my height to observe. :P
Clear skies,
Robin.

Just fits through the doorway rlow!...lol!
But the fabrication looks spot on! Nice fix-up! I see some clips holding the secondary section to the trusses. Nice touch! Gonna varnish it darker? Curious!!

At most altitude, I can observe standing flat on the ground. At the zenith I require a small step. I already have a 2-step ladder for my wife and others, if you recall one of my earlier photos. It is not as tall as the 18 UC.

Oh man, yours is long and big Rlow!! And Zambuto mirrors!

[smilie=crying2.gif] Now what you need to do are add steps to the truss so that you can climb up it. [smilie=crying3.gif]

Hahaha...I am not so afraid of heights!

I am glad to say that this dob is well balanced and smooth on both axes when loaded with my XW & Paracorr. Smoother motions than my 11" dob. Dampens well and holds collimation well too. I will be making a light shroud shortly.

Ready for first light tonight but it's cloudy....
