Alright, this is for sharing of your observation experience. Or, if you are arranging gatherings, star-gazing expeditions or just want some company to go observing together, you can shout it out here.

i know resident complain but we are not causing nuisance nor making loud noise or whatever.... if the police insist that we leave when we are observing then can we also complain.... for unreasonable reaction....

just like i take a zoom camera lens and stand infront of a house and take photos. so long i am in public place and not involve in illegal activities then the police will have no rights to ask me to leave...

Hey that 80ED looks sexy....ooooo! HAHA!
Nice set ups and observation!

I started the MSCP Obs and AP sessions next to my block and with luck no probs. Alot of questions from residents but no issues. If the police arrive...just explain nicely what your doing and perhaps even ask the police advice for such observation set ups for us Astronomers. If they request to pack up...then just do so and leave. The Law is such everywhere...not just here in SG. Unfortunately HDB apartments are so close even loitering downstairs looking up can be judged differently. I'm sure the police have had more weirder request to check on..lol!
Hmmm...I'm just waiting for the day when someone will see my huge set up on the balcony pier and probably think I'm a serious voyuer complete with SV102ED, guidescope to track the movement at the window,CCd cam to catch the action and a laptop to record 2hrs worth of info!! ...YEAH sure!
My wife never complained about how much time, effort & money I spent on my Astronomy hobby!................suddenly I met her!!!

KoKo and myself must be very lucky , during last Friday late evening.

BTW, did the police officers allow you to carry on, or all of you being told to pack up and leave the place ?
We had to pack up and leave. Sad...

If you're not been noisy and does not obstruct traffic, I don't think the police has grounds to ask you to leave. Unless they feel its an "illegal assembly" but all the scopes would prove otherwise. Plus let them see your images are upside down. What peeping town gets thrilled with upside down images?
I think its more of neighbours just not wanting you to be there. But there are so many place to obs I guess one should not make it difficult for the men in blue. They may be tired from filming for C.L.I.F. sequel [smilie=crying2.gif]
